Sunbonnet Sue has been around for over 100 years. The SB designs are credited to Bertha Corbett Melcher. You can read a bunch of stuff about the history of Sunbonnet Sue here. I especially like the Bad Bonnet Sues. I may make a Bad Bonnet sewing set. I'm evil that way.
